We Are The Champions (....again!!)11/13/2017 This week in ISM, I made great progress in regards to my presentation. I was able to finish drafting my presentation, as well as begin preparing exactly what I will say in this speech. In addition, I was able to conduct my fifth informational interview, which included my asking and acquiring my ISM mentor for the year!
There are a lot of things that go through my head when I think about my presentation. I have decided that I wanted to somehow incorporate more creativity in my presentation this year, due to the fact that I am studying a much more creative based career choir this year as compared to last year. As of now, I am struggling to see how I can somehow incorporate this aspect of my career of study into my presentation, but I will continue to think upon it and find a way to achieve this goal. In addition to work on my presentation, this week consisted of finding my ISM mentor. Mrs. Tammy Meinershagen, executive director of the Frisco Arts Associations, agreed to be my mentor, and I could not be more excited! I came to the conclusion to ask Mrs. Meinershagen to be my mentor due to many reasons. The primary one being that she works in both aspects of music that I would like to further explore - music business and music performance. I am beyond excited to begin working with her, and begin my ISM 2 journey! Overall, I think it is safe to say that this week in ISM was beyond successful. I was able to make both great progress on my ISM journey, and was able to find a mentor. These next couple of weeks will consist of mentor visits, continual progress on my original work, and more research. I can confidently say that I am very proud of how I am of my decision to approach a different field of study this year, and it has proved to be very beneficial. I cannot wait to see what the future may hold.
