Stay4/23/2018 My senior year is quickly coming to a close, which also indicates the quick end to my ISM journey. This week consisted of Luiz and I working frantically to acquire the last of the interview footage that we need for our documentary, as well as my personal quest to begin working on the song that Mrs. Meinershagen and I are going to perform together at Final Presentation Night.
Luiz and I successfully scheduled not one, not two, but three interviews between this week and the upcoming week. As soon as we complete the final interview this next week, we can finally begin the process of putting together the footage into an influential video. Luiz and I are currently in the process of scheduling another time to meet with the student who has agreed to edit our video in the near future, in order to assure that we are all on the same page and that the video will be a success. In regards to the song that I am performing with Mrs. Meinershagen, it is a song that I am already familiar with which definitely helps with the process of learning the song. However, this performance is going to be a big one for me. Despite the audience size and the pressure of the performance, I feel as if this performance will be a true testament to my progress in regards to performance technique over the past couple of years. In addition, it is going to be my plast performance as a high school student, and I want it to be great. Needless to say, the next couple of weeks will consist of extensive practice, to assure that this performance is a success!

Go The Distance4/16/2018 This week was definitely one for the books. Despite a stressful week of ISM content, EKG testing (which I passed!), and so much more, the week was capped off with our annual choir spring trip! This year, the choir took a bus all the way to disney world! As I said before, this was definitely a weekend for the books!
Before leaving for this trip, through my health science course I took my EKG examination to receive my certification as an EKG technician. Despite the nervousness, I felt confident in the knowledge that I had attained over the past year, and I felt confident in my ability to pass this examination. Not only did I proudly pass this examination, but my entire class did as well! Needless to say, it was a great opportunity way for us to celebrate all of our hard work as a class this year! In regards to the Disney trip, I can confidently say that it will be a memory that I carry for the rest of my life. I have had the privilege of being the president of the Reedy Choir this year, and going on this trip really reminded me of the environment that choir is, one that can only be described as a family. We spent our time reflecting on our memories over the past three years, making new memories that will last forever, and riding roller coasters! This trip was extremely needed after a long year of hard work, and I truly enjoyed every minute of it. Upon returning home, I am now refreshed, and ready to continue my hard work to finish my senior year strong. Celebrate Good Times!4/9/2018 University of Texas as Dallas, Class of 2022! This week consisted of my official commitment, and I am beyond proud. I am so excited to begin the next chapter of my life at UTD, and look forward to seeing where my life will take me from here on out.
Despite the excitement of my commitment to university, I need to remember to live in the moment and continue to focus on my ISM career. I spent a majority of this week coordinating a mentor visit with my mentor for this upcoming week. She has found a potential candidate to edit Luiz and my final product, and we are meeting with him this Wednesday to discuss any details. This is going to be a big step in the final production of our product, and I am excited to take this step towards the actual creation of the video! This next week will be a big step for Luiz and I, and that requires a large amount of preparation. Luiz and I are in constant communication in regards to what we need to communicate with my mentor and the potential candidate to edit our video. We will get to observe this week exactly how effective this communication is during the upcoming mentor visit! Never Stop4/2/2018 This week was quite the eventful one. Aside from having the most important interview of my life, Luiz and I are still working relentlessly to schedule at least 3 more interviews before beginning to put together the footage.
This interview that I speak of revolves around my college education. This week, I had an interview that will determine if or if not I will receive a full ride to university. I was proud of myself for making it this far in the process, however, I was beyond nervous. I realize how important this interview is, and I wanted to be sure that I did well. Needless to say, the next week will be very nerve wracking, as I wait for these results to be released. As important as the future of my education is, it is also very clear to me that I must be living in the moment. With that being said, my ISM journey is coming to a close much faster that I wish it was. I am working persistently alongside my mentor to continue going on mentor visits, as well as working with Luiz to continue to make progress on our Final Product. Luiz and I are both very happy with the progress that we have made so far, but there is still much more work to do in regards to the project as a whole. With the date of Final Presentation Night quickly approaching, we are both continually working effortlessly! This next week, I predict, will be just as intense as the last. With the last bit of fuel in my system, I am determined to finish my senior year of high school just as strong as I started! Piano Man3/26/2018 Interview week was a success! Alongside the success of our interviews, my family and I also celebrated my mom’s birthday (hence the title, she always asks me to play piano at her birthday parties). Safe to say, it was a successful week.
Luiz and I interviewed four people throughout the week. We have made great progress in regards to our final product, and upon watching the footage, we were both very pleased with the results. We received not only great quality footage (courtesy of my mom’s camera), but we also received great content from the individuals that we interviewed. The progress that we have made thus far has brought us back up to pace with our final product calendar. Luiz and I are both extremely determined to keep up this high-pace intensity of progress, and are cautiously optimistic in regards to the outcome of our final product. The determination for progress continues. Luiz and I are both in the process of continually looking for interviewees, and working towards putting together the content that we want for our video. The future is definitely looking up for this project, and I am excited to see the outcome! Tiny Dancer3/19/2018 Despite a setback, the ball is finally rolling in regards to the progress of my Final Product!
This week consisted of what can only be defined as persistent. Luiz and I worked effortlessly to schedule interviews and reach out to individuals who would be influential in our documentary. All of that hard work, has finally paid off! This upcoming week, we have THREE interviews for our documentary coming up, and a fourth one to be scheduled is currently in the working. The three that we have for sure are the CEO of Gearbox, an artist from Venezuela, and the executive director of Frisco arts (My Mentor!!!). In addition, the interview that we are currently in the process of scheduling is with an owner of a radio station that functions out of Dallas. I cannot speak on Luiz’s behalf, but personally I am extremely excited for these interviews. Not only will they be a great opportunity for us to hear the stories of individuals who are passionate about the arts, but it is a great opportunity for networking and getting to know the individuals that have the same passions at Luiz and I. I am very optimistic on how this week will end up! Wrapping up this week will consist of solidifying and following up to assure that all of these interviews are set. I am cautiously optimistic, but I am excited to be making progress on this project and am excited to get started with it! |
